O_o
How out of it are you when you hear about the major happenings in the country where you are dwelling by clicking on your friendspage? My excuse is that I slept until noon and then took a shower.

This is just so horrible. I really don't know what to say. London is a place I love a lot.

Hope everyone I know in London are OK and that everyone they know and you know are OK.

And now I'm going to find see if I can watch some kind of news on the web (I really wished I had a TV now). The BBC website wasn't cooperating earlier.

Try listening to BBC Radio. Much less bandwidth.

Me, [info]misspince and Marta were going to meet up in London next week. They were going to go to London next Thursday (or Friday) and I was going to meet up with them on Saturday. I've no idea if they are canceling their plans but I think I'm not afraid to go into London if the trains will be going OK and all that.

*nods* I must say, the people they are interviewing from London on the t.v. are so calm about this. They really are troopers. :)

Brits are generally calm people and being calm in the face of aversion is kind of integrated into the nation's character. (This is something that actually has come up in my studies).

It's so sad - one of the AP articles mentioned it was the worst attack on London since World War II. Just... :(

You guys take care of yourselves.

I was just about to recommened that site. http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/07/07/london.timeline/index.html is a pretty good page to see what has been happening today.

Here's a community someone created that has up to date news, and people willing to contact people in that area for them.

the BBC website is a bit slow at the mo, but they are good and the guradian have a blog that's being regularly updated...

this whole thing sucks, but so many of the people on tv who were nearby and have minor injuries are being real troopers. it's weird. i expected hysteria, then again this is england, lol ^_^

I'm actually listening to the Icelandic State Radio Station and all the Icelanders are talking about how calm the Brits are. I suppose this is something integrated into the nation's character. "Britain can take it!" and all that.

lol, yeah. i think it's that whole stiff upper lip thing - it holds all the panic in ^_^

they'll probably all go to the nearest cafe for a cuppa or the pub for a pint to help with the shock.. lol ^_^

Canterbury, where I live, is 60 miles outside of London so I'm quite safe. But thanks for your thoughts. *hugs*

Thanks for your thoughts. Am not exactly in London (Canterbury where I live is 60 miles outside of it) but this is still devastating.

I woke up at 2:00, and logged on to check my e-mail. It totally didn't register at first because all the news on yahoo's front page is so small, and because they junk it up with entertainment news and weather.

London is special. *hugs you*
